Riverside is a platform for recording, editing and sharing podcasts and video interviews, all in the browser. Its editor combines transcript-driven editing with a visual editing experience.
On the Editor team I helped build and evolve the editor. I worked closely with designers to shape transcript-based editing, developed text correction workflows and contextual editing menus, improved performance and responsiveness during live previews, and integrated the video player with an FFmpeg-based layout system.
The challenge was making complex video editing feel immediate in the browser: balancing responsive text editing, real-time previews and video rendering without losing smoothness.
My work helped improve the editor’s performance and usability as the product and engineering organization grew.
